But when they do show up, boy they tend to be quite the catch! So let me guess: you’re looking for some guys in anime with blue hair. Let me help you out with some of our top picks that happen to sport the XY chromosome packet.
12. Inosuke Hashibira
Anime: Demon Slayer This is actually somewhat of a spoiler if you’re not caught up with the show. Because despite his tough exterior, Inosuke has a very feminine face with long black and blue hair. I mean, no one could have guessed that from the boar head and raging muscles. As a character he’s just wild, literally. Always looking for a fight and stuffing his face whenever he possibly can. He also has just the most contagious competitive spirit, which the other characters use against him from time to time.
11. Aguero Agnes Khun
Anime: Tower of God Although there are four main characters listed in the show, this man has definitely been the face of the series for a while. And that’s because he just constantly has this aura of mystery surrounding him. Constantly teasing the audience with his background and motivation. The fact that he doesn’t possess much physical strength and is somehow powerful just adds to the intrigue. There’s no doubt he has a good head on his shoulders. And it just happens to be crowned in a light blue tint.
10. Tamaki Amajiki
Anime: Boku no Hero Academia I mentioned that blue-haired characters are a rare find. But badass danderes are also quite high up there when it comes so rareness in anime. So you can imagine my delight when Tamaki was first introduced? As part of the big three, we already knew the guy was powerful. But I didn’t quite predict the Sun-eater levels of power. As long as he stays clear of diets I’m sure he’s going to just keep climbing the ranks until he’s top hero material. On a side-note, team Rock, Gum, Mouth definitely needs like a CSI spinoff series.
9. Marx Francois
Anime: Black Clover Sure, Marx might not stand out as much as the Black Bulls or mister shadow sword. But boy is he essential to the kingdom. You have to understand that the king, although extremely powerful and kind-hearted, has the reckless spirit of a child. It’s only thanks to Marx that anything gets done in the Clover Kingdom, as he constantly runs after the child king (somewhat figuratively, somewhat literally) and makes him do his job. The rest of the world may ignore you. But I see you Marx. Keep up the good work you tactician nanny you.
8. Mitsuki
Anime: Boruto Among the newer characters introduced in Boruto, Mitsuki is honestly the only one I actually like. This is because we finally get to see what it would have been like if Orochimaru was a good guy. I mean he definitely had his sneaky “can we trust this guy” moments during the first half of the series. But he seems like an integral part of the group right now. Plus, a certain power he may or may not have is just hype as hell. So even though I don’t like the series too much, I’m definitely a big Mitsuki fan!
7. Ryuuji Takasu
Anime: Toradora! I desperately need a Ryuuji in my life. Although he’s perceived as intimidating, I find that to be quite opposite from the truth. The man is a softy. He constantly helps out little tsundere tiger palm over here with cooking, cleaning, mental support, sporting some extra plot, and who knows what else. I mean, they definitely make an adorable couple. But god knows it’s Ryuuji who’s doing most of the heavy lifting. He also comes with a goofy parrot and adorable drunk mom. Like honestly, what is there not to love about this guy!
6. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez
Anime: Bleach Grimmjow is like the very essence of shounen… the antagonist side at least. It’s all about fighting, proving your power, and dominating, with little room for pleasantries. He’s kind of a douche, is what I’m getting at. He will say what’s on his mind at any given moment, and isn’t really bothered by what others think of him. He does have his warrior code of honor, though. And has pulled some Senzu bean shenanigans. He also gets very hissy if he even thinks that you are looking down on him… so again, as shounen as it gets.
5. Jellal Fernandes
Anime: Fairy Tail You often have characters that are heavily burdened by their past, existing in the present only to atone for what they had done. And Jellal really goes hard in that aspect. Although a convict, he does his very best for the Fairy Tail guild. And of course for Erza. Speaking of Erza, some of the most painful relationship teasing, and some of the most epic scenes come out of his love for our battle queen. If someone so much as lays a finger on her, the man opens the heavens and sends you to hell. That is one sin he does not feel bad for.
4. Aladdin
Anime: Magi: The Kingdom of Magic Aladdin is the spring of joy this series needed. His light-hearted and bubbly personality really just cheers the place up. He’s also a Magi, so he isn’t just a lovable sidekick either. And he can definitely pack a punch. Well, Ugo does most of the punching but you catch my drift. He’s a very loyal friend and the three-man gang (him, Alibaba and Morgiana). They just make for the perfect adventure squad. And he gets a bit more nuts later on in regards to power. But he never truly loses his way, always remaining this positive influence on the story. Dig the blue hair, too.
3. Nagisa Shiota
Anime: Assassination Classroom The beauty of Nagisa is that even next to bad boy Karma, he seems way more terrifying. Most of the time he just seems like a good-hearted kid who just happens to be wielding some rubber weapons. But when he gets serious, things get intense. He’s both the kindest in his class, and yet somehow also the best assassin. He can literally clap you out of consciousness, how amazing is that? Coupled with some amazing hand to hand combat skills, some leadership points, and well-rounded character writing, this all makes Nagisa a top-tier in this category.
2. Ban
Anime: Seven Deadly Sins The decision of whether you pick Meliodas, Escanor, or Ban as your favorite character should be considered a real personality test, in my opinion. I’m honestly a Ban boy. Because what is there not to love about an immortal character with an equally undying love? His visual design alone just screams edge. But his early fights and feats are pretty dope as well. You do have to get around to the manga to see peak badass potential Ban. But even with what the anime has shown, he’s a very memorable blue-haired dude.
1. Kamina
Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann I’ve said it before and I will say it again: this is what happens when you max out the charisma tree. I mean, Kamina is definitely a capable warrior. And his fighting spirit is second to none. But his power to motivate everyone around him is probably his greatest attribute. Hell, I felt like battling some Beastmen and becoming a better version of myself after a few minutes of his speech. He also does wonders for the other characters in terms of character growth, so through and through he’s just a beacon of hope within the show.
